Welcome to For The Pups, a pupCentric lifestyle blog for pupParents, dog lovers, and for The Love of Pups. Inspired by our love for our three babies, Deacon, Chloe, and Sebastián, and a desire to celebrate the everyday moments of life with them, being a pupParent, and the joy, lessons, and love that come with sharing a life with pups.

For The Pups is for those who believe our best lives are lived alongside our pups and that doing good for dogs, in whatever way we can, matters. Whether you’re a first-time pupParent, a longtime foster, or someone who melts at the sight of a senior snuggle, you’re in the right place.

Join us as we share our about life with our three pups and the love, lessons, bit of wild, compassion, and connection that come with it.

Here, we share glimpses of our life: everyday moments and bigger adventures of life with our pups. We share some of our favorite pup-friendly places, gear, and recipes, along with the way our pups continue to shape the people we are.

We celebrate the full journey of life with pups and living with purpose for them: from the excitement and happiness of bringing a pup (of any age) home and the energy of puppyhood, to the quiet and spunky moments with seniors.

This is a space for people who cancel plans for their pups.
Who live for tail wags, pup cups, enrichment routines, and slow mornings with sleepy dogs.
For people who feel it when they say “dogs are family.”

For The Pups is also about advocacy, education, and community, and the impact we can have on a dog’s day and building a more compassionate, dog-friendly world. Every dog deserves a safe, loving home. We’re passionate about supporting rescue work, responsible pet parenting, and showing up for dogs in meaningful ways.

Our Story: Where It All Comes Together

For The Pups is new, but the heart behind it has been with us for years.

Through our small business, Dolce Terra, we’ve always made giving back to animals a part of our mission, donating 10% of every sale to local rescues and animal welfare causes. Supporting dogs (and the people who care for them) has never been an afterthought for us. It’s been core to who we are.

That same mission carried into our real estate business, Dueñas Realty Group, where we’ve made it a priority to help pups by:

  • Advocating for dogs (and animals by sharing resources and elevating animal causes
  • Volunteering at a local shelter to help dogs escape kennel life and have more moments of happiness at their temporary home
  • Donating a portion of every closing, with at least 1% of our net earnings supporting local dog causes
  • Helping clients find homes that fit their lifestyle, and their pup’s, too

As we continued with both businesses, and as pupParents, we knew it was time to bring our passions together into one place, a space where our love for our pups, our commitment to doing more good, and our desire to build community could live side by side.

What began as Jorge’s dream of one day opening a rescue is now our shared vision, and even if that dream evolves, our purpose stays the same: to meaningfully contribute to the lives of dogs.

Over the years, we’ve admired the many incredible people and organizations doing beautiful work for animals, the advocates, rescue founders, fosters, volunteers, entrepreneurs, educators, and storytellers. They’ve inspired us deeply. And then, along the way, we realized:

We can do this, too.

We don’t need to wait for the perfect opportunity. We can step into the work, in our own way, using the resources, heart, and voice we have, and learn as we go. For The Pups is our way of doing just that: showing up, giving back, and building something with purpose.

We’re here to join the mission, not just support it. To collaborate with, learn from, and contribute alongside the amazing people already doing this work. Whether Jorge’s dream (our shared dream) of starting a rescue becomes our future, or whether our impact grows in other ways, we’re committed to showing up for dogs, always.

We didn’t need a perfect plan. We just needed to start.

So, For the Pups became the space where all of it comes together, our love for our pups, our commitment to giving back, our community of pup people, and our belief that even small actions can create meaningful impact.

For the pups who changed our lives, and the people who show up for dogs every day.
