For The Pups Photography is pup-led outdoor photography in Austin, for the pups who need a minute, the pups who’d rather keep moving, and the pups who are not about “posing for strangers.”
More than pictures, these sessions are about celebrating the love, magic, and personality that make your pup so special and an important part of your family. From playful candids to soulful portraits, every picture tells a story, without trying to make them a pup they’re not.
This is also for the pup parents who want a session where their pup is understood, not judged. If your pup is reactive, has big feelings, is a sweet senior who needs to take things a bit gentler, loves strolling during sniffaris out and about, or is a “so excited to be here pup,” you’re in the right place.
What does pup-led mean?
Pup-led means your pup sets the pace. I do my best to watch their body language, build trust, keep things low-pressure, and let the session feel like their adventure, not a performance.
That looks like:
- A slow hello and space if needed
- Short bursts of photos, lots of breaks, praise, and adventuring
- Quiet spots for shy or reactive pups, playful spots if that’s for your pup
- Safety first, always (leashes stay on unless we’re safely in a fenced area, and your pup is photographer-friendly)
Pup-led, because all pups deserve to be celebrated and comfortable.
What you bring (and what I bring)
You bring: you, your pup, and y’all’s energy
Optional: a favorite toy, a special bandana, a birthday hat, a pup cake, or anything you want to include.
I bring: treats, water, a bowl, a few toys, waste bags, pup wipes for the fun confetti (dirt and mud), and a love for pups. We’ll keep it no pressure and capture special moments while they explore or in between.

About your photographer
I’m Gina, momma to Deacon (forever 14), Chloe (10), and Sebastián (3). I love all pups, and have a special place in my heart for those with big feelings. I understand the immense love and life they give, and how important understanding is. I’ve had a love for pictures for as long as I can remember, and find it so fulfilling to capture moments of pups and all their magic and love.
Where it all started…
For The Pups was inspired by our love for our three babies, Deacon, Chloe, and Sebastián, and has grown into more, including volunteer parties that help rescue pups.
We donate 10% of every paid client session to a local rescue. So while you’re capturing moments and love, you’re also helping pups in need.

Are shy or reactive pups okay?
Of course! We love shy and reactive pups, too. Our sessions are pup-led, their feelings are a priority. We’ll move slowly, keep space, and agree on safety practices before your session.
For safety reasons, if you have reactive pups, we ask that there be no more than two pups per session, with one person present per pup. If you have three or more, still reach out, we’ll see if a session is safely possible.
What should we bring?
Some of their favorite high-value treats or toys, a collar (and/or harness) and leash that is best for your pup, and any props you’d like to include.
Where do sessions take place?
We’ll share a few fun, pup-friendly outdoor options. If you have a special place in mind, let us know. We consider custom location requests on a per-session basis.
How many pups can join?
Pup and people safety is one of our priorities. For every two pups we ask that there is one person. If you have more than four pups, we can see if/how we can best accommodate your pups for a session.

Each month, For The Pups Photography gifts two sessions to adoptable pups through local rescues. These photos help them stand out online, show their personality and magic, and hopefully help them to get seen by the person meant for them.
Not ready for a session?
Camera Roll to Keepsake turns your favorite photos into heirloom-style portraits or a slideshow. You send your pictures, and I’ll edit them and create a shareable online gallery. Perfect to have as a celebration of your pup or for a special event for them, like their birthday.
